Using AI To Your Advantage

If you’ve noticed that it seems that teachers are suddenly accepting AI this year, you’re not alone. It’s like there’s been a full 180 with how teachers feel about AI, so now, it’s time start using it the right way. Because, when used correctly, it can be your one of your biggest tools.

Homework & Classwork

If you’re struggling to do your homework, you can ask a chatbot to explain how to do a problem or question. It’s like having another teacher, and while this is probably a given, it can truly be a massive help. Plus, you can ‘dumb it down’ to your liking in a way that will make your learning much faster and easier. But, we do also want to say that you shouldn’t use AI to do all of your work, because then it hinders your learning and prevents you from absorbing the information. Remember to use AI as a supplemental tool, not a replacement for you or your brain!

Practicing

AI can be a great helper in turning study materials into questions and other practice resources. If you upload a study guide or list of concepts, it will quickly respond with quizzes

or even another explanation, helping you practice your content before a test or quiz. One of the best tools for doing this is Google Notebook, which allows you to upload files and get summaries, quizzes, and mind maps in return. You can see a real example from our founder using it for his AP World History studying earlier this school year.

Studying

This is when we like to have the most fun with AI. When using it to study, you can play around and try new things. For example, if you just can’t understand the material in the way it was taught, tell a chatbot to set it up like a TV show or sitcom.

The multitude of ways you can use AI not only to practice but also to hone in on your study skills will yield many positive outcomes! To the right, we’ve attached a picture of our founder using AI to explain the process of DNA replication in Biology last school year (and he ended up understanding the information much better than how it was taught originally).

We’re not saying AI needs to replace your current work or study patterns, but it’s going to start becoming more prevalent in classrooms, so it’s good to become acquainted with it. Test things out, play around, and see what works for you! And, if you liked this post, check out our others below or in the Blog page.
